Fact and Opinion Shuffle

Activity Instructions

As a warmup, display several artworks and read facts about them. Have students guess the art that you are reading facts about. Then, have the kids in small groups and assign one artwork to each group. Then, have them write facts and opinions about their artwork. When they’re done writing, have them trade the art and statements and have the other groups sort the facts and opinions. If there is time, they could then add their own.

For younger children, this activity can be done in one large group or in two groups with an assistant.
